Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do I need to have a mat?
A. If you don't have a mat you can rent one for $2.00 per visit.  For your convenience we also have an assortment of mats for sale along with other yoga practice accessories in our yoga shop.

Q. I am new to Yoga.  What classes should I start with?
A.  Gentle classes include anything marked Gentle or with Yoga & Meditation.  These classes move slowly to all for all levels to move in and out of traditional yoga postures with ease.   These classes are ideal for anyone who may also have difficulty getting up and down fluidly from the ground or are interested in yoga for therapeutic purposes and overcoming aches and pains.  Basic Yoga is a class designed to introduce people to "Vinyasa flow" style of yoga.  This style of yoga links postures together with a sequence called "vinyasa" that gets the heart rate up and provides a cardiovascular aspect to your practice.   Starting here is recommended if you can move easily through other physical activities and are interested in developing into a yoga practice that offers a variety of effort of the physical body and easing of the mind.

Q.  What should I wear?
A. You want to wear clothes that allow you to move without causing uncomfortable constriction.  Balance that with clothing that is not so baggy it wont stay in place.  Oversized T-Shirts and Shorts can cause frustration as the extra fabric may get in the way, fall into the face, or leave a student feeling exposed.

Q. Do I keep my socks on?
A.  Yoga is practiced barefoot allowing for greater balance and grip.  Of course, we just want you to be comfortable so if this is a problem yoga is still available to you!
